Insurances and Payment

Picture
As eye care providers, our goal is to promote good eye health and enable you to have the clearest vision possible. We accept several types of vision insurance, cash, checks, and most credit cards. We inform our patients about exam and treatment costs at the beginning of their appointment. If you require a breakdown of costs or an explanation of your benefits, please let us know. Please note that insurance providers require a copay, if applicable, to be collected each visit.

Important:
Please bring in all current insurance cards, lists of all medications including eye drops and contact lens brands and solutions.

Vision Insurance
The knowledgeable staff at our office is experienced in working with vision insurance providers. We will work directly with you and your vision insurer to submit claims regarding your vision care. We strive to ensure that you understand your insurance coverage and will answer any questions you may have regarding your benefits. Many current vision plans are designed to cover most of the basic vision-related costs, but not all costs associated with eye care. Most plans often require a co-payment for an office appointment as well as additional costs for contact lens exams. Costs and benefits for materials
such as glasses and contact lenses vary depending on the insurance plan.

Common Insurances accepted:
VSP
EyeMed (also known as Blueview Vision)
Anthem / BCBS
Medicare (medical only) - not in network with Medicare Advantage Plans
United Health Care (medical only)

Contact our office to find out if your insurance is accepted or for more information regarding your vision coverage. We ask that you have your cards available when calling us. Additionally, your insurance may have a list of "Active" providers within their network.

Flexible Spending Accounts
Many employers are offering Flexible Spending Account (FSA) or Health Savings Account (HSA) options to employees. These plans are designed to let you save money in an account, pre-tax, to pay for additional medical expenses such as eye exams, glasses, contacts, and often laser vision surgery. FSAs and HSAs can typically be used in conjunction with any vision insurance plan to offset any out-of-pocket costs on your behalf. In many cases these accounts must be utilized before the end of the calendar year. Check with the benefits administrator at your work to see if you are eligible for this program.

Care Credit
Care Credit works just like a credit card, but is exclusive for medical services. And, it’s better because you can receive no interest financing.  You can use your card for exam services, contact lenses or glasses. This means you don’t have to put off improving your vision until you save up enough money. Call us at (804) 739-3221 for more details on how to sign up.
